  • Angie Smith

    OWNER

    Angie has had extensive experience as an instructor, choreographer and a dancer. She has been a dance instructor since 1999. During that time, she led many of her past competition teams to first place in both regional and national competitions. Angie has also danced competitively for 12 years and later dance professionally with Eventco Corp. She is also an experienced choreographer, having choreographed dance routines for both Pickerington Central and North High Schools. In 2002 she was named Choreographer of the Year during regional dance competitions. She won several Top Group Awards and credit for Tommy Hilfiger advertising. Angie has also choreographed many award-winning routines at the regional and national levels. Angie was the co-choreographer for the first-place national dance routine and was a Capital University dance instructor.

  • Courtney Boggs

    OWNER

    Courtney has been instructing dance for many years and competitively danced for 12. During her 12 years of competitive dancing, Courtney has won numerous titles for dancing as a soloist and in group. Courtney’s vast choreographic experience has earned her routines top accolades at the regional and national competition levels and on multiple occasions has also been awarded best choreographer. Courtney is skilled in virtually all dance forms, including ballroom dancing, and has had the opportunity to experience different cultures. In 2001 she traveled to the Peoples Republic of China, where she instructed jazz and ballet dance classes for children ages 4-18. Courtney was the co-choreographer for the first-place national dance routine and was a Capital University dance instructor.

  • Kara Lehosit

    RECREATIONAL DIRECTOR

    Kara began training as a dancer at 3 years old and danced competitively for more than 15 years. As a competitor, Kara received dozens of awards for high scoring performances, scholarships and special recognition for her part in group numbers, duets and as a soloist. She trained at the Eastland-Fairfield Career Center’s performing arts program, has attended multiple workshops throughout Central Ohio and traveled out of state to hone her skills as an instructor at various dance conventions. Kara graduated from The Ohio State University in 2010, with a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and a minor in dance. Most recently, she obtained her elementary and special education teaching license from Capital University in 2011. She currently works for Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities in a special needs preschool classroom. Kara loves teaching students of all ages in a wide spectrum of dance styles, ranging from ballet, to jazz and tap.

  • Andrea Parks

    COMPETITION

    Andrea has shown a passion for dance and the stage since the age of 3. She won her first regional award in central Ohio dancing to a tune entitled “I’m Cute, Yes It’s True!” The trophy was taller than she was at five years old! Andrea has won several national championships in both individual and team placements. Andrea chooses Christian and socially poignant platforms in which she conveys beautiful stories. Her passion for dance has allowed her to minister around the globe and has touched the hearts of many across the nation. Andrea loves teaching the beautiful movements and scenes that tell the stories of life and talents in young people.

  • Jessica Brown

    BALLET

    Jessica Brown, 2017 Emmy winner of Television Arts and Sciences, received her training at American Dance Center and under instruction from Paula Weber, Professor of Dance at the UMKC. She joined the BalletMet Trainee program in 2005 and has worked her way through the years to become a leading artist. Ms. Brown’s roles have included the principal female role in Carousel, Fool’s Paradise, Lucy in Dracula, Tiger Lily in Peter Pan, Principal couple in Movements 1 and 3 from George Balanchine’s Symphony in C, as well as Jumping Girl in Who Cares?, Waltz Girl in Serenade, Cinderella and the Blue Bird pas de deux in Sleeping Beauty. She has enjoyed working with choreographers such as Christopher Wheeldon, Michael Pink, Val Caniparoli , Jimmy Orrante, Attila Bongar, Kristopher Estes-Brown, James Kudelka, David Nixon, Stanton Welch, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, Dwight Rhoden, and Amy Seiwert. Ms. Brown has had the honor of performing with BalletMet in the Moscow International Contemporary Dance Festival in Russia and performed Edwaard Liang’s Vicissitude at the National Choreographer’s Initiative for their 10th anniversary.

  • TyLeigh Baughman

    BALLET

    TyLeigh Baughman was born in Sand Springs, Oklahoma, and received her training at Tulsa Ballet’s Center for Dance Education.  She pursued her dance training with Pia Russo, Stephanie Murish, Daniil Gaifullin, Liudmilla Polonskaya, and Sarkis Kaltakchian.  After training, she danced with Tulsa Ballet II for two years then was promoted to the main company for the 2017-2018 season as the first person to be hired from the school. She now is an artist with BalletMet. She has worked with world-renowned choreographers such as Ma Cong, Helen Pickett, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa,  and Edwaard Liang, and has performed on tour at the Joyce Theater in New York City.

  • Michelle Dennett

    ACCOUNTANT

    Michelle Dennett is a current Passe dance mom who loved the studio culture so much that she couldn’t help but get involved. She attended The Ohio State University and graduated in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in accounting. After working in private accounting for 10+ years, she left her desk job to raise her five children at home. She now owns a small business from her home, works in the office at St. Pius X School, and manages our accounting here at Passe.

  • Lydia Schrickel

    Lydia Schrickel has been dancing for seven years at Passe Dance Center. She has won high point awards at competitions and loves to choreograph and create pieces for her students. Along with being involved in the competition team, Lydia volunteers in the nursery at Grace Fellowship on Sundays and lifeguards in the summer. She is a junior in high school and plans to incorporate dancing into her college life in the future!
